Coisirean Nan Gaidheal - Gaelic Choir Night
(In association with Meur Phaislig)


This is a first for the Paisley Choral Festival - a gathering of choirs which specialise in the music of the Gaels. Organised in association with Meur Phaislig (Paisley's newly formed branch of An Comunn Gaidhealach), this is sure to be a night of fun as the choirs compete for the Provost Celia Lawson Gaelic Cup. A bar will be available.

Choirs expected to attend are the Glasgow Gaelic Musical Association, Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir, Cumbernauld Gaelic Choir, Govan Gaelic Choir, Largs Gaelic Choir and Stirling Gaelic Choir.

Tickets: Adult: £10

Neil Wilson - The Guitarist

Scotland's top performing classical and world guitarist Neil Wilson graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (R.S.A.M.D.) in 2004. He has been playing the guitar from the age of five and playing professionally for eight years.

Neil first came to the public's attention when, at the age of 13, he appeared on Scottish Television playing classical and world guitar music.

Neil regularly performs guitar recitals throughout Scotland and travels to England to perform several times each year. His venues include House for an Art Lover (Glasgow), Paxton House (Berwick) summer festival of classical music, Dundee Repertory theatre, the Venezuelan Embassy (London), the Dundee International Guitar Festival, the Kirkmichael International Festival, Inveraray Castle (residence of the Duke of Argyll) and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Last year Neil performed over 30 concerts including three in New Zealand. In September 2006 Neil performed 'live' on Metro Radio, Newcastle.
